Insituware Wins Mexico Technology Award for New Vision MARK-1 Conformal Coating Fitness for Use Kit

Updated: Nov 16, 2021

Insituware LLC received a 2021 Mexico Technology Award in the category of Conformal Coating for the Vision MARK-1 Conformal Coating Fitness for Use Kit. The award was announced during a ceremony that took place Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021 during SMTA International in Minneapolis, MN.

Insituware’s groundbreaking technology measures the fitness for use of solder paste, conformal coating, and more. The Vision MARK-1 has changed the daily world of electronics manufacturing and brought quality control to a new level by providing clear indicators if materials are fit for use.

Insituware’s Conformal Coating Fitness for Use Kit is used with the Vision MARK-1 device and has the capability to measure conformal coatings prior to application to ensure proper viscosity and percent solids in real-time to monitor and reduce defects such as bubbling, cracking, and delamination.

“Insituware’s technology provides the complete solution to improve quality control for materials. The Vision MARK-1 has already helped companies reduce coating failures in their process by being able to monitor and track the behavior of their coatings,” says Christopher Frederickson, CTO of Insituware.

This capability is currently enabling OEMs in automotive, aerospace, defense, and medical to take control of their materials, improve manufacturing efficiency, and prevent conformal coating related defects in their application process. EMS companies are gaining proof of materials control and traceability to validate their product quality to these customers.

The Vision MARK-1’s ability to ensure materials consistency before and during use in volume manufacturing helps to increase throughput, improve accuracy and repeatability, and provide materials traceability to meet the requirements of various quality standards.

The handheld Vision MARK-1 device is powered by analytical sensors, machine learning, and cloud-based technology to bring materials control solutions right on the factory floor. Insituware continues to develop new materials control solutions for manufacturers to help them drive towards Industry 4.0.
